Happy 21st John!

John Kenny from Bolinrush, Bunclody enjoyed a fantastic 21st birthday party with his family and girlfriend at the Carlton Millrace Hotel recently.

John, who suffered a serious injury which left him in a wheelchair, has received great support since his accident and a large crowd attended his party to celebrate his life.

John was joined by his parents, Peter and Mary, sister, Martha, brother, Patrick and girlfriend Tracey Nugent.

John Walsh and Angela Bradley from Greenville, Enniscorthy celebrated their engagement in style at the Bellefield GAA complex over the weekend.

John and Angela were joined by their family and friends at the event to mark their engagement.

John B Keane play

Castledockrell Drama Group’s staging of John B. Keane’s The Field will be staged this Saturday at St. Aidan’s NS hall.

The play was due to be staged last Friday but the venue was double booked.

The play starts at 8:30p.m. at the school.

Tickets cost €10 and you can pay at the door

Fantastic Oulart gala concert

A gala concert to suit all musical tastes will take place at St. Patrick’s Church in Oulart at 7:30p.m.

Featuring well known local talent, the concert is sure to entertain everyone.

Wexford Male Voice Choir will be performing, as well as Oulart natives, Róisín O’Grady and John Dempsey who are returning to perform.

Róisín is a Music graduate of UCC who has performed across Ireland.

She opened a singing school in Enniscorthy four years ago and currently teaches singing and piano at Kilkenny College.

John studied in DIT and is a choral scholar of some renown, having performed at Christchurch Cathedral and with professional groups.

Soloists Chloe Kenny from Oulart, Laura Carroll from Ballycanew and trad singer Helen Kirwan from Monageer and Matty Murphy from Castlebridge will perform, as well as students from the local national school.

This event is a fundraiser for the Church restoration fund and part of the 100 anniversary celebrations.

Breda Jordan who is helping to organised the event said people can expect a fantastic repertoire of music, from classical to traditional to light opera to anthems like You’ll Never Walk Alone.

€2300 raised for nurseries

€2,300 was raised at Little Treasure’s Creche for the National Nurseries Association recently. A cheque was handed over to the organisation following a Make A Wish pyjama day.

Stars in their Eyes – Lady Gaga for Bunclody

This year’s annual Stars in their Eyes is in aid of Irish Autism Action, in association with the Cottage Autism Network Wexford. The event will take place this Friday, April 16th in Caesar’s Nightclub, Bunclody.

There will be a special guest appearance. Doors open at 8:30p.m. sharp and the show arts at 9p.m. Admission is €10 and there will be a door prize and a raffle.

Many entertainers from Enniscorthy town and the surrounding area are taking part in this most worthy fundraiser and your support to all the artists is appreciated.

This is your chance to see Lady Gaga, Cheryl Cole, Imelda May. Elvis, Niall Diamond, Mary Black, Maura O’Connell, Susan Boyle and a host of other artists perform, so it should be a great night.

James celebrates his 40th

James O’Brien from Bridgemeadow celebrated his 40th birthday with his family at Shenanigans recently.

James was joined by his daughters, Jennifer and Margeurite and sons, Tómas and Kelvin.
