As part of the build-up to this year’s Special Olympics’ National Games finals in Limerick next week (June 9 13), the Law Enforcement Special Olympics’ Torch Run is currently making its way around Ireland, with members of An Garda Síochána joined by Special Olympics athletes and well wishers as it is borne along the route.

The newly-established Special Olympics Club in the town hosts an Open evening this coming Tuesday May 4 at the Astro Active centre, Bellefield, at 7.30 p.m., at which the club will have its formal launch. All interested in supporting this worthy venture, especially in registering as an athlete, their parents or potential supporter/ volunteer is invited to attend.
